The Imperial parade of Charles V
The Association “Pistonieri Santa Maria del Rovo” is organizing on Friday 3rd July 2015, alongside the patronage of the City of Cava de’ Tirreni, “The Imperial Parade of Charles V“, by recalling the arrival of the emperor to the ancient “borgo metelliano” in 1535.
The event is part of the historical and cultural traditions of Cava and it is also part of the “Settimana Rinascimentale 2015“, continuing the course which the City of Cava de’ Tirreni has pursued, thanks to the direct involvement of Pistonieri Santa Maria del Rovo, by adhering to the Cooperation Network of the European routes of the emperor Charles V, approved by the Municipal Committee on 17 April 2014.
The Imperial Parade of Charles V is going to involve in its realization others associations, participating in the project, in order to further enrich the Settimana Rinascimentale and to increase its visibility beyond the country’s borders. This has already happened in the last edition with the tour of the Spanish delegation, received by the Mayor of Cava de’ Tirreni.
The aim of this event is to further reinforce the role of Cava de’ Tirreni as a European cultural centre, also thanks to the approval of the Council of Europe of the Cultural itinerary of Charles V.
The Imperial Parade of Charles V begins at 19:30 from Piazza Amabile to reach, passing through the porched course, Piazza San Francesco, where Charles V had been received in 1535.
At the end of the Parade is going to take place a theatrical presentation by the Association “La Combriccola Bianco Verde“, which will review in a modern key the Farsa Cavajola “Ricevuta dell’Imperatore” at the Church of Santa Maria del Rifugio.
